Is this a really funny name or am I just unsophisticated?
So, the way that I see it, there are three possibilities when it comes to Life after Death:
1. There is an All Good, Omnibenevolent (All Loving) God:
If one were to live a truly just life, free from evil and lived in an effort to better oneself and one’s character, than an All Good Omnibenevolent God’s logical choice is to honor the life that one lived and reward them eternally.
Argument:
1. If a God exists who is All Good and All Loving, He Cannot Deny Rewarding Those Who Live a Just Life.
2. A God exists who is All Good and/or All Loving.
3. Therefore, God Cannot Deny Rewarding Those Who Life a Just Life.
2. There is a God, but he is either Not All-Good, Not Omnibenevolent, or Neither:
If a God were to exist who did not meet either criteria listed above, than one should not wish to worship him and/or live a life to honor that God. For the deeds of one on earth would have little to do with a God’s choice of the soul’s life after death.
Argument:
1. If a God exists who is either not All Loving or not All Good, than the worship displayed to this God has no definitive value in the afterlife, thus is void.
2. A God exists who is neither All Good and/or All Loving
3. Therefore, Actions performed on this earth have no definitive eternal value, thus is void.
3. There is no God.
If there is no God, there is no emphasis on how one’s life is lived, for there is no afterlife decided by God.
Argument:
1. If no god exists, one’s actions on earth have no eternal value.
2. No god exists.
3. Therefore, One’s actions on earth have no eternal value.
